The Beginning
Dirk C. Engel established Engel & Cie in December 1977. Shortly after, Christian Völkers joined this venture marking the beginning of Engel & Völkers' success story.
A European Foothold
In 1990 Engel & Völkers established its first shop outside of Germany, in Mallorca, Spain -- one of Germany's leading feeder markers. In the late 1990s Engel & Völkers launched its franchise offerings.
Americas Expansion
In 2013, Engel & Völkers began franchising in the US. Through unrivaled brand consistency, sophisticated systems and innovations, we've done what no other European real estate company has been able to do — successfully establish itself in the Americas.
Development Services
To satisfy the distinct needs of builders, developers and investors, Development Services was established in 2019. This division consists of experts on five continents who represent over 500 projects from townhome communities to mixed use high-rises.
